Labour stared on the full moon. Cord clamping was not delayed as requested, parents found it unhelpful when nurse asked if they’d like an epidural despite mom’s spinal fusion and increased risks.
Other notes about postpartum:
Engorged breasts postpartum - warm compresses helped soften breasts so baby could feed.

Primary doulas were in a car accident so I was called last-minute without knowing the clients previously. When I arrived we got into a good groove and midwife was excellent. When second midwife and student midwife arrived, that’s when labour stalled and became too much for mom to manage so we transferred

Parents were already in emergency with their toddler son in the night when labour started. It came on fast and was stressful on no sleep and with son sick. Mom did not want dad in the room so he stayed behind the curtain. When baby came, he slid right onto the hospital bed because the nurse did not know what to do and the doctor did not come in time
